DR. PALANIAPPAN A/L RAMANATHAN CHETTIAR, B.Sc., MA, Ph.D., A.P.T, a Malaysian. Currently is Chairman & CEO of SMR Technologies Berhad, a listed company on Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd.

Dr. Palan, author, speaker, consultant and trainer is passionate about competency, learning, performance and the use of technology to facilitate human capital development. With his electrifying dynamism and persuasiveness, he entertains and at the same time educates his audience. He has spoken to thousand of professionals at several international conferences in over 30 countries. Written more than 12 books and numerous articles. Dr. Palan started his career as a Chemist before moving on to the world of Human Sciences and Technology. Dr. Palan's company produced the software HRDPower™ that is today recognized as the industry standard in the field of Competency today. His company was awarded the 17th place among the fastest growing Fast 500 Tech companies in Asia Pacific.

A third generation Malaysia Indian, he lives most of the year in KL, Malaysia and travels frequently to Dubai, UAE and Chicago, USA.
