Dear Subscriber, The last weekend was an exciting one as I saw Liverpool powered by Kenny Daglish as the new Manager over power Manchester United 3-1. Many Manchester United fans may not like it but given the pain Liverpool fans have experienced this long, it was and is a wonderful moment. In the last e news we watched with shock and awe the troubles in the Middle East. The sojourn continues with the courage undiminished and the fact that human voices cannot be silenced by guns once the human spirit decides to discard fear and face the challenge. Introduction

Raymond Caldwell, University of London says that recontextualise the effectiveness of competency models. His article published in the Human Resource Management journal claims that competency models are weak in predicting performance. There is a need to re jig the Competency – Performance equation to ensure we can demonstrate ROI – return on investments or as Jim Kirkpatrick is fond of saying ROE – return on expectations.
